AntiTitled Dialogues was an improvisation performance collective made up of dancers, musicians, and media artists working in Brooklyn and Manhattan from 2012 – 2014.

Initiated in January of 2012 by Dai Jian and continued as a collaborative investigation by coordinators Kristin Hatleberg, Elise Knudson, Rebeca Medina, and Ophra Wolf, the work of the collective was grounded in weekly meetings  and a monthly sharing to encourage conversation and awareness about the potential of improvisational movement platforms.

Appearances included traditional stages like Dixon Place and impromptu appearances in Washington Square park and subway station.

“We are engaged in researching the art of improvisation in a live performance setting. We believe that performance improvisation is the frontier of meaningful development both for the field of dance in particular and the performing arts in general. We work within our environment, merging its elements to redesign and frame the experience. Combining body language, visual art, performance art, music, and the architecture of the space, we choreograph the moment fully and spontaneously, together.”
